Anal Hazing in our high schools

It seems as if the bullies have found new ways of doing what they do best, being a bully.Anal hazing seems to be the new thing these days according to an article on yahoo news.  How sad that now instead of our children being videoed without their permisson, let alone knowledge, they are now being subjected to being raped in school.
It also seems as if some of the faculty members don't see anything wrong with it.REALLY???? Rape is rape no matter the age or place and it should be stopped whenever possible.According to the article it seems to be egged on by coaches and students alike. And we wonder why our country is going to hell so fast.
The desensitiztion television and movies have brought us with more and more gruesome scenes, and not to mention the ultra violent 'cartoons' and video games on the market today, all play a role in the 'don't give a damn it's not me' attitude.I fear we have become sadists with all the horror over the centuries and we continue to inflict more not only on ourselves but our fellow man.
Sorry folks but we need to stand up for our children and stop this craziness.

Best way so far

There are so many ways of saying how everyone is against bullying and the effects it has on our kids, this was just posted to my FB by a friend and it's awesome!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltun92DfnPY

Believe in yourself before others can!

Think you know them?

The boy you punched in the hallway. Committed suicide a few minutes ago. The girl you called a H** in class today. She's a virgin. The boy you called a lame. He has to work every nite to support his family. That girl you pushed down the other day. She's already being abused at home. That girl you called fat. She's starving herself. The old man you made fun of 'cause of the ugly scars. He fought for our country. The boy you made fun of for crying. His mother is dying. You think you know them. Guess what? You dont!

Supposed to be adults????

Ok,everyone has things that really, and I mean REALLY,peeve them off.Like everyone else I have a bunch of thing that set me off on a rampage of some sort.Mine is limited to complaining about what my husband isn't doing and how our daughter takes after him.I know not real mature but hey, gotta vent some kind of way.

I remember in high school, there was the "in" crowd.Yeah those clicks are still around.I had a friend of mine who tried out for football or something and got in.He later quit after the first away game because of the hazing going on on the bus.Now I'm sure everyone has read the article about the Florida A&M student beaten to death from hazing. This is a college campus and the students attending these colleges are supposed to be adults.

Yet they continue to act like children.Hazing is bullying no matter how you look at.Now you're wondering what the hell that has to do with my venting right? This is my vent.Don't you kids understand that hazing is as bad a s bullying? I mean gangs "jump" you into the gang.Bands and sports ARE NOT GANGS!!!

They are a way of celebrating the school you have decided to attend to further your education. You are there to learn, just like you did when you were a little snot nosed kid crying for your mama not to leave you at school. You're supposed to be adults.Yeah I know, some adults aren't much better than kids themselves. But dammit GROW UP!!!

I had a woman leave me a message about why there aren't any laws against bullying or why it isn't treated as domestic terrorism. This is why,the law doesn't have enough people to enforce such laws and the courts are so backed up now, that those charged with such crimes would probably never see the inside of a jail for years anyway.

Only in hazing deaths will there be charges filed and young people's lives destroyed. What about the victims life? Their lives have been snuffed out by the beatings and suicides because they couldn't get in to the fraternity or sorority they wanted to be in.Now I never went to college. But even in high school I didn't much care for being popular or in the "in" crowd.I had my own friends and we did what we wanted, within the law most of the time lol. If anyone wanted to be friends with us there was not initiation or hazing bs.

A friend of mine asked me a long time ago that if I went to college would I join a sorority? My answer hell no.Me be part of some group of girls who thinks they are better than anyone else and whose only goal in life is to land a rich husband? Not me.That's just my opinion of fraternities and sororities.I maybe wrong but I don't think so.

When are we as a race, meaning the human race, going to wake up and start teaching our kids that we don't need to follow others into the abyss of stupidity.Remember what your parents always said when you were younger? " Just because Johnny jumps in the lake doesn't mean you have to." The kids doing the hazing are nothing more than "grown-up" bullies. And they will eventually get what they deserve......jail time or a swift kick in the pants!

Bullying and physical health risks

Let me start off with an apology for not posting sooner.I've been doing some research. We all have learned that bullying has some very deadly consequences. But many of us don't realize how much deeper it goes. There have been many children and young adults who have committed suicide within the past few years, due to being bullied.

Many of our youth are overweight.I know, you're thinking "What's that got to do with being bullied?".EVERYTHING!Here's why. Many of our children are afraid to tell us that they are being bullied,so where do they turn? Food.As parents we don't really and truly think anything of what our kids eat,or what we eat for that matter. What ever's quick and easy.

So most of us just grab a burger or fried chicken or something of that sort.Which is fine on occasion. But,how many of you parents have noticed your child gaining way too much weight? How many of your kids are actually hoarding food in their room?Have you looked?

Bullies pick on other kids just because they know they can.Our children are picked on for the way they look, dress, act, how much they weigh, how well they do in school and so on.The growing problem of weight gain in our youth can be directly linked to bullying.Don't get me wrong, unhealthy eating plays a big part of it,but so does being bullied.

Bullying causes stress for the ones being bullied, which in turn causes them to either gain weight or lose weight. Many parents believe that just because they have settled the bullying issue, which can take quite a while, their child will automatically go back to normal. Not so.There are still lingering effects of being bullied and it can last well into adulthood.

Many of our kids won't commit suicide in a 'normal' fashion,(i.e hanging, shooting, etc),but rather they can and are eating themselves to death.I have other blogs that deal with weight loss and some of the health problems associated with being overweight. But I've been doing some research as I said in the beginning. This is what my research was on,bullying and overeating and the health problems it can cause.

I watched a show on tv the other night about a South Pacific island whose population is so overweight, that they beat us in diabetics 5-1.1in 2 people on this little island have diabetes. The island's population? 10,000.All 10,000 people have some form of diabetes. So what's that got to do with bullying? If your child turns to food for comfort, they run the risk of becoming obese, developing diabetes, heart problems, kidney failure and so on.

Here's my other blogs on weight loss www.amylewisworld.blogspot.com,www.mydiabetesandweightloss.blogspot.com

Bullying:An Act of Terrorism: Bullying vs Terrorism

Bullying:An Act of Terrorism: Bullying vs Terrorism: "The definition of terrorism is the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. The definition of a bully is a blustering bro..."

Bullying vs Terrorism

The definition of terrorism is the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion.
The definition of a bully is a blustering browbeating person;especially:one habitually cruel to others who are weaker or a hired ruffian.

There's not really much difference in the two. Both use words or physical violence to create fear.Words are the deadliest though. The physical violence leaves scars yes,but is a lot easier to deal with and fight than the hurt and pain caused by words. The old saying 'Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me' is not true.Words hurt more and cut deeper than a knife.

During any war our country has been involved in,each side used propaganda to place fear into the other side.It was words that struck fear. The US always put out non threatening papers to the civilian populations while the other side put out fear inspiring propaganda.

Hitler used propaganda to instill fear in the German people. He told them that war was coming and he was the only one who could win the war.He never said he could stop it but he could win it.The Japanese told their people that our troops would rape and murder them.So when our troops got to some of the Japanese villages, the people committed suicide out of fear of being raped and murdered. All of this was done with words.

It's no different with bullies. They use words to instill fear in our young people.Fear of getting beat up,or physically hurt in some way.Bullies use words like stupid, retard, queer and faggot. The bullies spread rumors about others to hide their own shortcomings. All done with words.Once words are spoken, they can't be taken back.Neither can bombs, gunshots, punches or anything of that nature.

We are all guilty of using words to hurt someone at one time or another.Sometimes we forgive some mean words spoken out of hurt or anger.Sometimes,we feed on the hurt making things worse. This is what sustains bullies. The need to feed on other people's pain. This is what makes the bullies feel strong and better than others.

It is the constant chatter of hurtful words, spoken on a daily basis, that causes our young people to feel inferior to others. It is the constant badgering of bullies, that causes our young people to commit suicide. It's all WORDS.Sometimes it's acts that others do,but for the most part it's just words that prove to be deadly.
